This embroidered sweatshirt combines two iconic symbols of Japanese tradition: the dragon, emblem of strength and protection, and the samurai, embodiment of discipline, courage, and honor. The Red Dragon (Akai Ryū) in Japanese Eastern culture represents courage, passion and protection while the Samurai Warrior (written in Kanji). Kanji was introduced to Japan by the early Chinese Confucian Buddhists between the 3rd and 5th centuries AD. Initially used to write Chinese, The Japanese adapted these ideograms (which represent concepts and words) to their own language, creating both Chinese (on'yomi) and native (kun'yomi) pronunciations and developing their own characters (kokuji). Wearing the sweatshirt with this design means bringing with you the strength of the dragon and the determination of the samurai, reinterpreted in a modern, streetwear key. MATERIALS 80% cotton and 20% polyester, three-layer with hood and flat drawstring, set-in sleeves, reinforced neck tape, brushed interior, side seam construction.
